ABOUT
My name is Kristin Flynn. I'm a certified Master Gardener and landscape designer based out of Northern California. I grew up on the East coast, in the bucolic towns of Connecticut and the rolling country hills of Vermont. My mother grew magnificent gardens my whole life, and imparted her love of nature and design on me from a young age.

My early career was in brand management and strategy consulting. Soon after the birth of my third son, I decided to pivot. I enrolled in the Master Gardener program at UC Davis, one of the foremost agricultural institutes in the United States. I apprenticed under a local landscape architect for five years following my graduation before starting my own enterprise. Plotting Gardens was launched in Spring 2014, and my passion for the work has remained steadfast ever since.
PHILOSOPHY
I take pride in connecting architecture and nature in a way that is both beautiful and environmentally responsible. I bring a deep knowledge of plants and horticulture with a strong understanding of architecture and scale. My work spans a range of styles from modern, to cottage, to zen and it all starts with the project site and client objective(s). A cohesive design concept is the North Star for every project and decisions: plant type, hardscape materials, color and shape should all be a reflection of that concept.
SERVICES
My work and services range from full scale master landscape schematics with planting plans, to smaller design detailing for elements like pergolas, BBQs, outdoor showers, gates and fencing.
